ART & Design Career

Milliner Donna Dobbs is a headwear designer, maker and visual artist whose career has spanned 25 years across the creative arts, design and production industries.

Donna graduated in Dress Design at the Moreton Institute of TAFE, during the mid 1980s and launched her own label in 1996.

Designing for over 20 years she has created millinery collections for major department stores and boutiques both nationally and internationally. In addition to designing bespoke creations for a private clientele, other specialities include fashion runway shows and local theatre productions.

In 2016, Donna was awarded a Bachelor of Creative Arts – Visual Arts Major at the University of Southern Queensland. Although Donna has a love for fashion and millinery, her studio practice is now predominately based on sculpture and installation engaging the processes of ‘deconstruction’ and therefore ‘re-construction’ of the art object. Donna has exhibited over the past 10 years in solo and group exhibitions, and has artworks held in public and private collections.
